The 200-hour High Vibe Yoga Teacher Training consists of 3 intensive modules over 28 days. Each day includes yoga workshops in the style of Anusara Yoga or Therapeutic Yoga, guided morning meditation & pranayama, philosophy & yogic discussion, support from the High Vibe team, amazing internationally renowned guest teachers, High Vibe brunch and an unforgettable yoga studio setting at The Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali.
Module I: Taking The Seat Of A Teacher
Discover your authentic voice and unique gifts as a teacher, create inspiring and meaningful heart themes, refine the art of observation, cultivate skills to see the ‘beauty and good’ in students, develop the 5 Universal Principles of Alignment in your yoga practice and as a teacher, finding your core mediation practice, intelligently design a self-practice and learn how this creates not good but great teachers as well as skillful sequencing. Exceeds daily Yoga Alliance requirements in: Anatomy, philosophy, asana, meditation, pranayama and lifestyle.
Module II: Discover The Skills & Magic Of Teaching
Develop skillful language skills to weave themes into postural instruction, build class templates, cultivate a deeper understanding of subtle body anatomy as well as Ayurvedic principles, pull inspiration from what you ‘like’ not what you think you should like, learn to navigate your meditations, skillful sequencing supporting a ‘peak pose’, study yogic philosophy, become enticed by Hindu mythology and Tibetan Buddhist techniques — learn practical ways to integrate these teachings into a yoga class to make them more meaningful and personal, hone skillful verbal and physical adjustments, one on one group practice and teaching. Exceeds daily Yoga Alliance requirements in: Anatomy, philosophy, asana, meditation, pranayama, practicum and ethics.
Module III: Refining The Art Of Teaching
Diving deeper into the language; tone, clarity, direct vs. passive, personalizing themes and using your own life experiences as intelligent inspiration, study yogic philosophy and sutras, including the Pratyabhijna-hrdayam and the Bhagavad Gita learn practical ways to integrate these teachings into a yoga class to make them more meaningful and personal, establish yourself in meditation and learn to teach mediations, learn important manual adjustments vs. verbal adjustments, adapt poses for all levels of students, offer powerful demos, one on one group practice and teaching, business of yoga, key verbal and physical assists to ‘enhance’ the postures. Exceeds daily Yoga Alliance requirements in: Anatomy, philosophy, asana, meditation, pranayama, practicum and ethics.
Emily Kuser - E-RYT & Anusara® Yoga Instructor at The Yoga Barn, Ubud - has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and teaching yoga for 8. She has studied thousands of hours with incredibly respected Anusara, Shadow, Ashtanga and Jivamukti facilitators worldwide. Emily most frequently studies with Tara Judelle—a greatly influential force and mentor in her life over the past years. In addition to a life of yoga, Emily now travels frequently to Nepal to deepen her understanding and studies of Tibetan Buddhism— a tradition and practice that is becoming more and more a part of her daily life. Emily has lived in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia for over 6 years and currently teaches Anusara Yoga at The Yoga Barn. She regularly leads her highly respected and sought out Teacher Trainings at the Yoga Barn as well as High Vibe Yoga Immersions at Michael Franti’s Soulshine Villa in Ubud and is a key organizer in the the annual Bali Spirit Festival. Prior to living in Indonesia, she was a writer for LA Yoga magazine in Los Angeles, studied in Santa Barbara, CA and grew up in dusty Tucson, AZ. In Tucson Emily had the great fortune of discovering Anusara Yoga as well as teachers such as Darren Rhodes and Bruce Bowditch at Tucson’s local studio Yoga Oasis —this discovery totally altered the course of her life. Emily loves to weave storytelling, proper alignment and high vibes into her yoga teachings.
Originally from Madrid, Spain, Carlos has been steeped in all aspects of the yoga tradition during almost 40 years of practice and study. He spent 18 of those years as a monk of the Saraswati order, under the name Swami Gitananda, which included 9 years in India, at the Siddha Yoga ashram, studying and practicing under Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi
Chidvilasananda. During this time he learned the various systems of Indian Philosophy and immersed himself in the practice of yoga, becoming one of the senior monks of the tradition and teaching meditation and philosophy to tens of thousands of students around the world. He combines this experience and traditional training with his academic background, which includes two Masters Degrees: one in Sanskrit, from U.C. Berkeley (where he has taught) and another one, in Religious Studies, from U.C. Santa Barbara. He is currently working on his Ph.D. dissertation on the Krama school of Kashmiri Tantrism. Carlos currently lives in San Francisco, California, and travels extensively around the world conducting a variety of retreats, courses, seminars, workshops and lectures on the Wisdom of Yoga and related subjects. As a teacher, Carlos is renowned for the breadth of his knowledge and the clarity with which he conveys it. His great love of
the Indian yoga traditions, his insight, his humor and his deep connection with his audiences give him the ability to transmit the deepest scriptural teachings in a way that is clear, meaningful and applicable. Studying with Carlos is an enjoyable and transformative experience.
Chris is an experienced registered yoga teacher (E-RYT) who specializes in applied anatomy and physiology of yoga practices.Since 2000 Chris has been teaching yoga and the ‘Yoga Anatomy Show’ on over 70 accredited Yoga Teacher Trainings in many countries around the world and has conducted numerous workshops on yoga, breath, health and well-being. Originally from Germany, Chris was windsurfing professionally before he began studying medicine at Kiel University. In 1993 Chris moved to Australia, where he studied natural medicine. He earned a BHS in Complementary Medicine and advanced diplomas in naturopathy, holistic nutritional medicine, western herbal medicine and homeopathy.On his yoga journey Chris has been influenced by his friends and teachers. Some of the teachers who have contributed greatly to his body of knowledge are Yogacharya H.S. Arun (Iyengar yoga), Clive Sheridan (hatha kundalini, pranayama), Emil Wendel (pranayama, philosophy), Peter Clifford (therapeutic yoga), Matthew Sweeney, Louisa Sear and David Muehsam (astanga vinyasa), and Judith Lasater (restorative yoga). Chris’ naturopathic background and his passion for yoga led to his specialization in applied functional yoga anatomy. In addition to workshops, he has been developing and teaching curricula for yoga teacher trainings for over 10 years. Nanna Wagner is a Copenhagen based yoga teacher though her curiosity and desire to know more often brings her around the world. Her teaching style is playful, challenging and heart opening. Bex Tyrer, E-RYT, certified Acro Yoga & Vinyasa Yoga Instructor at The Yoga Barn, Ubud – has an impressive background in Development studies, journalism and social work. Bex’s approach to yoga is one that honors the need for individual self study with the aim of improving interpersonal relations and communication. She has studied yoga asana, meditation, pranayama and philosophy for over 10 years worldwide. After completing her Yoga Teacher Training Course in Dharmasala, India, Bex has taught group and private classes in a wide range of environments from the slums of Kolkata to the paradise of Bali. Teaching a diverse selection of styles including her ‘full power celebration of life’ Hatha Vinyasa Flow to the much gentler and nourishing Yin and Restorative yoga. She is also studying a unique Acro Yoga combined with thai massage to focus on themes of trust, communication and social unity and has just completed a month residential immersion into Tibetan Buddhism at Kopan Monestary in Nepal. Bex believes yoga has something for everyone. Her belief in a common humanity is reflected through her original yoga classes where she shares lessons learned while building upon inspirational themes of cooperation, peace and justice. Mitchell is an Advanced Practitioner of Structural Integration (aka ‘Rolfing’), with an exrensive background in other body-centered modalities (Trager Work, Swedish-Esalen). He began these studies in 1976; this interest has grown into a passion for empowering others to effect positive change though touch. He teaches classes internationally on topics ranging from functional anatomy to structural bodywork. In addition to his investigation of bodywork, Mitchell is long-term practitioner, and Authorized Level II teacher, of Ashtanga yoga. He began his investigation into meditation and contemplative movement in India in 1979. In 2000, Mitchell dedicated himself to traditional Ashtanga in 2000, studying each year under the guidance of Sri K Pattabhi Jois. Mitchell teaches asthanga regularly in Thailand, Indonesia and the U.S.A. alongside his partner and senior teacher, Kirsten Berg. Mitchell derives great delight from the organic process in which yoga and bodywork can and do inform and support one another.

Technique & Yoga Practice – 100 hours ~ Asanas, pranayamas, meditation & mantra—analytical training in how to teach and practice the techniques and guided practice of the techniques themselves.
Teaching Methodology – 25 hours ~Includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student’s process of learning and business aspects of teaching yoga.
Anatomy & Physiology – 20 hours ~Includes both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.). Includes both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns, etc).
Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers – 30 hours ~Includes the study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle and ethics for yoga teachers.
Practicum – 10 hours ~Includes practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing and giving feedback. Also includes assisting students while someone else is teaching.
Electives – 15 hours ~ Reading, self practice, writing, etc. Hours accumulated outside of teacher training hours as ‘non-contact’ hours.
Total Hours: 200 hours
~2 years of yoga practice practice recommended.
~Familiarity with Anusara Yoga or Hatha Yoga. To learn more about Anusara Yoga please research online—you will find videos of Anusara classes to practice to and articles by Anusara teachers. *This training does not certify you in Anusara Yoga but incorporates the techniques and methods of Anusara Yoga.

The training Facebook Group begins 6 weeks prior to the training start date and includes weekly preparatory tasks for the training—some tasks will require the below reading requirements. Accommodation in Ubud
Ubud has many accommodations to choose from. Some of the accommodations that are walking distance from The Yoga Barn are: Rona, Family Guesthouse, Ubud Bungalows, Greenfield Bungalows and Kunang-Kunang.
Another great resource for renting houses, rooms and villas is airbnb.com. Please make sure your accommodation is close to Yoga Barn if you will be walking to the studio. Otherwise you will need to rent a scooter—it is very easy to rent a scooter in Ubud and costs approximately. $50USD per month.

Booking Flights: Kayak.com uses a price calendar in their flight searches—a great travel tool! Skyscanner.com is another favorite. Airasia, Garuda, and Jetstar airlines are great if flying to Bali from southeast Asia and Australia.
Airport: Denpasar, Bali (airport code: DPS) The airport is about a 90 minute drive from Ubud. When you depart the Denpasar airport on your return flight home, you must pay a 150,000 IDR CASH ONLY (approx $15 USD) airport tax per person.
Indonesian Visas: Apply for a VISA ON ARRIVAL at the Ngurah Rai airport in Denpasar when you arrive in Bali. (airport code: DPS)
The visa is $25 US and is valid for 30 days with an option to extend for an extra 30 days. You can easily extend your visa in Ubud during the training with a visa agent.
Phones: Nokia phones are $ 30 US. You must buy a phone number (SIM card about $3 US) and credit ($5-10 US)Bring an unlocked phone if you have one.
Wifi: Is available nearly everywhere in Bali and at the Yoga Barn.
Transport: Taxis are around $ 35 US from airport to Ubud.
Renting a motor bike costs approximately $ 5 US a day, less if you rent by week/month. Hiring a driver/taxi in Ubud is approx $5 USD each way in the village.
Indonesia Rupia (IDR)

An average latte at a nice restaurant costs 20,000 IDR or approx. $2.25 US.
Weather & Clothing: Ubud is warm—often very warm and sunny. Summer clothing suggested. Bring a light jacket for the evenings when the weather cools. If you have plans to climb the volcanoes, please bring warm clothing. It is very chilly in the volcanic regions. Rain ponchos can be bought easily in Ubud if needed.
Temple dress: Women must wear a sarong to cover legs and a shirt which covers shoulders to enter the temples. You may borrow or purchase here in Ubud easily if you do not own a sarong.
